Building Envelope Projects

Over 15 years of experience in building envelope projects.

Columbus has over 15 years of experience completing building envelope projects and addressing water ingress from small to severe.

Our damp and drizzly weather in the Greater Vancouver Area is a threat to buildings and their weatherproofing systems.  A small leak that goes unnoticed or un-repaired can cause extensive damage throughout the interior structure of a building and the residences within.  In fact, toxic mold will begin to grow on a wet surface in as little as 24 hours.

Water ingress problems can be difficult to identify, but here are a few common warning signs:

  • Poor drainage on decks and roofs
  • Condensation on windows, interior leaks
  • Cracks in exterior beams and siding, fungus or moss growth

Columbus has years of expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing weatherproofing systems in multi-unit residential buildings.  Our team of experts will find the source of the leak, assess the damage, repair rot and conduct mold remediation (if necessary), and install the new building envelope or rain screen.

All work is protected under warranty.

“During my 13-year term as President of our Strata Council, I worked very closely with Columbus each year on the Building Envelope re-construction of our complex.  We put our trust in Columbus and they never let us down.  Our ‘hand-shake’ agreement is very refreshing.  Our relationship with Columbus continues into 2010 and the foreseeable future,as we are extremely satisfied with the quality of Columbus’ work.”
